FAQ

Résumé editing questions, answered.

Everything people ask before ordering. Still unsure? Start with how it works.

How much does résumé editing cost at Think Ahead Careers?

A résumé edit or creation costs $29 CAD. A cover letter costs $19 CAD. A résumé and cover letter together cost $45 CAD. You pay once, up front, with no subscription and no hidden fees.

How fast will I get my résumé back?

Within 24 hours of placing your order.

I don't have a résumé. Can you make one?

Yes. Fill in our Build your résumé form with your work history, education, and skills. Rough notes are fine. We turn it into a complete, formatted résumé for $29 CAD, back in 24 hours.

Do I need to book a call?

No. You upload your résumé and, if you have one, the job posting you are aiming for. Everything else happens by email. There is no call to schedule and no account to create.

What do I get back?

A finished résumé, ready to send to employers. If we edited your existing résumé, you also get a marked-up copy that shows what changed and why, so you can keep it current on your own.

What if I need changes after I get it back?

Reply within 7 days and we will make one round of revisions at no cost. Send back the copy we delivered, since we delete your original after delivery.

What file types can I send?

Word (.docx), Google Docs, or PDF. If your résumé only exists on paper or in an old format, send what you have and we will work from it.

Can you tailor my résumé to a specific job?

Yes. Send the job posting with your order and we will adjust your summary, skills, and bullet points to match what that employer is asking for.

Will my résumé work with applicant tracking systems (ATS)?

We use a clean, single-column layout with standard section headings, plain fonts, and no text inside images or tables, which is the format applicant tracking systems read most reliably.

Do you write cover letters from scratch?

Yes. Send a few notes about why you want the job, plus the posting, and we will write a cover letter that matches your résumé. If you already have a draft, we will edit it instead.

Do I need a cover letter?

Send one when the posting asks for it, when you are changing careers, or when something on your résumé needs explaining, such as a gap or a move. For quick applications that do not ask for one, a strong résumé usually matters more.

Do you follow Canadian résumé conventions?

Yes. We use Canadian spelling and standard Canadian résumé practice: no photo, no age, no marital status, and no Social Insurance Number, with references provided only when an employer asks.

Is my information private?

Your résumé is used only to complete your order. We delete your original résumé and the details you send us once your finished résumé is delivered, and we never sell your information. See our privacy policy for the full details.

Do you serve people outside Ontario?

Yes. The service is fully online, so we work with job seekers anywhere in Canada and abroad. Prices are always in Canadian dollars.

Ready when you are.
