What makes a cover letter work?

A strong cover letter is short, specific to one job, and answers one question: why are you a good fit for this role at this company? It should add context your résumé cannot, not repeat it.

Every cover letter we deliver follows the same structure:

1. Opening. The role you are applying for and the one reason you are a strong match.
2. Evidence. Two or three specific results from your experience that line up with the posting.
3. Fit. Why this employer, in a sentence or two that shows you read the posting.
4. Close. A clear, confident request for an interview.

We keep it to one page, usually three to four short paragraphs, in Canadian spelling.

Writing from scratch or editing your draft

No draft? Send the job posting and a few notes on why you want the role and what you are proud of. We will write the letter from there, using your résumé for the details.

Already have a draft? We tighten the wording, cut generic lines like "I am a hard-working team player", and replace them with specific evidence tied to the posting.
